SHIFT National Conference

OVERVIEW

SHIFT National Conference is a biannual, four-day global gathering hosted by the Missionary Church, bringing together over 500 attendees from across the world. The conference combines leadership development, business sessions, worship experiences, storytelling, and organizational updates into one cohesive event.

My role was to develop and maintain the creative system that shaped the entire conference experience—from branding and environmental design to multimedia storytelling and production across all touchpoints.

The Challenge

Designing a four-day international conference requires more than visual consistency—it requires creating a unified experience across dozens of moving parts, contributors, and communication channels.

SHIFT needed to:

  • Communicate complex organizational updates clearly and efficiently

  • Create an engaging, high-energy experience across four full days

  • Integrate voices from leadership, missionaries, church planters, sponsors, and global partners

  • Ensure clarity and consistency across all printed, digital, and environmental materials

  • Maintain excitement and engagement for returning attendees while remaining accessible to first-time guests

The challenge was balancing information density with inspiration and clarity with creativity.

The Goal

To create an inclusive, engaging, and highly organized conference experience that:

  • Communicates the vision and business of the denomination clearly

  • Inspires and encourages attendees spiritually and professionally

  • Feels cohesive across all sessions, environments, and media

  • Encourages attendees to return year after year

  • Reflects the global reach and diversity of the organization

I have contributed to SHIFT Conference since 2015, serving as a key creative partner responsible for:

  • Theme Development & Visual Identity

  • Brand System Design & Consistency

  • Event Research & Concept Development

  • Environmental & Stage Design Support

  • Production Coordination & Asset Management

  • Multi-channel Content Creation

The Process

My approach begins long before design execution.

Each conference cycle starts with research and discovery—understanding the goals of leadership, the themes being communicated, and the stories that need to be told.

From there, I develop a visual and experiential framework that supports the full conference ecosystem.

A key part of my role involves integrating content from a wide range of contributors, including:

  • Organizational leadership (President and executive teams)

  • Department updates

  • Church planters and missionaries

  • Sponsors and exhibitors

  • Speakers, worship leaders, and global partners

Each piece of content is shaped into a unified visual and narrative system, ensuring that the conference feels cohesive even when many voices are being presented.

Throughout production, I maintain consistency across all materials while adapting designs for multiple formats, environments, and communication needs.

SHIFT Conference brings together over 500 attendees from around the world for four days of leadership development, vision casting, and global connection.

The design system helps unify a complex, multi-voice experience into a cohesive and engaging environment where attendees can:

Over multiple conference cycles, the system has helped SHIFT remain both recognizable and fresh, evolving visually while maintaining continuity and clarity for returning attendees.
